Designed, built, operated

Sovereign AI infrastructure

Most firms that design sovereign infrastructure have never had to operate what they drew. We run our own public cloud region, so everything we put in front of a client is something we have already had to live with.

What we do

We design and build AI and data centre environments for organisations that need the capability inside their own walls or inside their own jurisdiction. That covers the facility decisions at the bottom, the network and storage fabric, the compute and accelerator layout, the control plane, the platform teams actually use, and the workloads on top.

Sovereignty is not a label you add at the end. It is the ability to see, audit and operate every layer yourself, which means the layers have to be chosen with that in mind from the first drawing.

Why the operating experience changes the design

A team that has only ever designed infrastructure optimises for the diagram. A team that has had to keep it running optimises for the night somebody is paged. Those produce different choices about power density, about where state lives, about how much of the stack is open enough to inspect when something is wrong.

We run Cloudtopiaa on Tier-4 infrastructure and operate the region ourselves. The decisions we recommend are decisions we have had to answer for.

Who commissions this

Enterprises that cannot send a particular class of data to a public region. Operators building national or sector capability who need a partner who has done it rather than one who has presented it. Institutions standing up research and teaching infrastructure, where the people using it also need to learn how it works.

We have delivered multi-year private cloud lab programmes end to end, and we operate our own region. Both of those are visitable rather than described.

Questions we hear before engagements

Do you only build on your own cloud?

No. Most of this work lands in the client’s own facility or their chosen colocation. Our region is where we proved the design, not where every engagement has to run.

Can you operate it for us afterwards?

Yes, and we would rather you asked that up front, because a system designed to be operated by its builder looks different from one designed to be handed over.

How do you handle the residency evidence?

We treat it as something the system produces as it runs rather than something assembled for a review. We also publish an open suite for testing whether residency proofs can be fooled, which is the uncomfortable question most vendors avoid.
